A sad day for free & accessible healthcare

Twin waters Pharmacy - fighting for free & accessible healthcareSource: Twin Waters Pharmacy

Despite the efforts of around 150,000 people, major disruption to Community Pharmacies will come into effect from next month. Many have warned that this attack from the Government against free & accessible healthcare will have wide ranging negative effect. The policy will cut BILLIONS of dollars out of health care. Unfortunately, Labor and the Greens have refused to listen. Estimates for Twin Waters Pharmacy are that up to $200,000 per year in funds will be cut. Until now these funds have allowed us to provide many free or subsidised services and products. Services such as expert health advice, deliveries, medication packing and so much more. All we can do is move forward. We are committed to providing the best possible healthcare to our patients and customers.

Changes to access

As part of the new reality we have decided to make a small change to our opening hours. Until now we have been open from 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 9:00am to 12noon on Saturday.

From Monday September 4th we will be closing 30 minutes earlier on weekdays. Our new opening hours will be:

Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm

Saturday 9:00am to 12 noon

Sunday and Public holidays Closed

Outside of these times there are a multitude of ways to place an order. We will then process when we are next open.

You can:

  • Place your order through Medadvisor if you are signed up
  • Email us at [email protected]
  • SMS us an order or eScript to 0439523245
  • Order through our website
  • Use our new Prescription Drop Box near our front door that we check each morning when we open
  • Drop your orders into the dedicated Twin Waters Pharmacy letter boxes if you are a resident of:
    • Living Choice – Twin Waters
    • Living Gems – Pacific Paradise
    • Halcyon – Lakeside

Moving forward from here

To continue to provide the services our community values we have been forced to introduce charges for previously free and discounted services.

The fee schedule for these services is available on our website. This is an action that we have been reluctant to introduce. Where we find ourselves now we believe we have no choice. As always, if you find yourself struggling please reach out to us and we will do everything we can to help.
